The German revolution of 1848 failed because of the following reasons:-

1. The Prussian king joined other monarchs as well as junkers (large landowners) in order to oppose the Frankfurt parliament.

2. The social basis of the parliament eroded because the parliament was dominated by the middle class members who did not listen to the needs and demands of the working class people.

3. At the end, troops were called in and the assembly was forced to disband.

Failure of the revolution. The Revolution of 1848 failed in its attempt to unify the German-speaking states because the Frankfurt Assembly reflected the many different interests of the German ruling classes. Its members were unable to form coalitions and push for specific goals.
