Why was Gulliver filling tired

Gulliver was working as an apprentice surgeon in the ship named "Antelope". On itsfirst voyage it was caught in aviolent storm and sank and allthe crew members were engulfed in the ocean. Gulliver somehow managed to swim to the seashore. He was so tired that he soon wasin a deep sleep. When he woke up he found himself tied to the ground by the little men (Lilliputians) who lived there.
