EMPEROR HARSHVARDHAN was not able to defeat CHALUKYA KING PULAKESHIN II because the efficient RULER PULAKESHIN guarded the passes of the river NARMADA with so much efficiency and force which compelled the emperor to agree his defeat from the RULER PULAKESHIN and he also agreed that the RIVER NARMADA would be the separation point of both the kingdoms. the emperor also lost most of his elephant forces in the battleground only.
