Helen and the other ghosts were going on a strike because of the ouija board fanatics, they used to call them frequently to answer questions which left them with no time for their own amusement. The condition she laid for providing help was that if jhon could asset his influence on people and convince them to stop using the ouija boards. The ghots would only help if people stopped using the ouija boards.
