His Afghan nobility eventually invited Babur to invade India. In 1526, the Mughal forces of Babur, the king of Kabulistan, defected Ibrahim 's much larger army in the Battle of Panipath. Ibrahim was killed during the battle.....After the end of Lodi dynasty, the era of Mughal rule commenced.

1) Ibrahim Lodi was the last ruler of the Lodi dynasty. Babur was a ruler in the Central Asia which was a very small principality. He always wanted to conquer a bigger empire in the Central Asia. He was highly attracted towards India- because of its wealth. Due to the death of Sikander Lodi, the dynasty had become unstable because of his failures, and Ibrahim Lodi was not able to handle. This gave a opportunity to Babur who got many invitations by other rulers. Babur defeated Ibrahim Lodi at the First Battle of Panipat, he established the Mughal rule in India.
