Hindustan is especially derived from Persian word called as “Hindū”. Based on Persian, region are beyond Indus River are referred as Hinduš derived from Sindhu which is the name of Sanskrit of river.
It is also combined with Iranian suffix –stān for results in the Hindustan which is land on Persia of Indus. People living in the "Hindustan" called as Hindus in Middle Eastern tongues.
