Why was India National Congress formed? when?
The Indian National Congress was formed to fight for Independence. Many leaders such as A.O. Hume, Dadabhai Naoroji, Surendranath Banerjee, Badruddin Tyabji, W C Bonnerji, S. Subramanya Iyer, Romesh Chandra Dutt etc together formed the Indian National Congress. Their main aim was to struggle for Independence. And to make India a country that will belong only to the Indian people. In this struggle, they also wanted to create equality among Indian people, irrespective of their caste, religion, race or gender.
Indian National Congress was formed when 72 delegates from all over country met at Bombay at 1885.
