because that time no other country grow it cause it harmful also and make the soil barren but india grow it

The demand for Indian indigo increased in colonial time because: The cloth manufacturers and dyers of the European countries such as Italy, France and Britain used Indigo for dying clothes. Indian Indigo produced rich blue colour.
