Answer:

Yes, it was hard for the author to believe that his grandmother was young and pretty.

Explanation:

The author here expresses his thought on why he couldn't imagine his grandmother was once young and pretty because the author have seen his grandmother old past twenty years since his childhood. He says the imagination thinking about his grandmother as young or pretty is revolting. He feels it quite weird thinking his grandmother was a child once, young and playing games as child. He can't imagine the past of his grandmother because of her present identifications. The present life of authors grandmother is peaceful, clam, religious person. She doesn't engage in fights/arguments. Instead she responds to everyone in peaceful way and she always spend all her time chanting prayers, reading scriptures and feeding animals and birds in her free time. She was living a very simple and peaceful life and she is in the same way for the author past twenty years and he can't believe that his grandmother was once a child, young, pretty and it was hard for him to believe about this.
