Kandhar was lost because of the overthrow of Humayun.
1. Kandhar is a place that is situated in present-day Afghanistan.
2. It was ruled by the Mughal Emperor Humanyun before he was overthrown.
3. The new emperor initially could not save it from the Safavids.
4. Jahangir said that Shah Tahmasp had betrayed him.
5. The emperor did not accept his defeat, the emperor thus did not get any support from the Shahs, he could not recapture the Kandhar estate
