why was khilafat and rowlatt satyagraha launched??

Rowlett act was passed by the British gov. in 1919 it says that the gov. can arrest any one and imprison them without any reason .

satyagraha was launched against this act

the khilafat issue gave Mahatma Gandhi the opportunity to bring Hindus and Muslims on a common platform
