Khilafat movement was supported by gandhiji due to:-

1) India was suffering from the rule of britishers and want to get freedom thus gandhiji thiught an ided to make brotherhood b/w hindu's and muslims.

2) During world war ottoman emperor was defeated thus two new leaders are unrivaled which are Mohammed ali and shakat ali.

3) Mahatma gandhi thought thats the best time for doing this movement by joining hindu's and muslims.

4)It was supproted by gandhiji because they thought thats the best time to fight against britishers.
