Lencho consoled his family saying that it was not a total loss, though it seems to be. He further adds that no one dies of hunger.

Lencho was a poor farmer.So, he and his family depended entirely on the crops that were produced in their field,i.e, agriculture was the only means of their livelihood.Whatever money Lencho would get after selling his crops had to last for the entire year.But,unfortunately that year the disaster(hailstorm) had devastated all his crops as well as his hopes and aspirations. He had no more money to sow his fields again and hence,the thought of starvation distressed them.
