Answer:

Explanation:

Nelson Mandela was overwhelmed with the sense of history and what had happened in the last three decades as he could recollect all the past experiences faced by the blacks . Only because of their long and arduous struggle against the policy of Apartheid ( DIscrimination on the basis of race)- the dark skinned people in South Africa were humiliated and denied of thier basic rights.

In this long journey many black activists also lost their lives. All these things /harsh memories made Mandela a bit overwhelmed during his oath taking ceremony on 10 May 1994 as the First Black President of South Africa.

Answer:

Answer:on the day of the inauguration Mandela was overwhelmed with a sense of history because in the first decade of the twentieth century and before his own birth , the white skinned peoples of south-Africa patched up their differences and erected a system of racial domination against the dark skinned peoples of their own land. But now in the last decade of the twentieth century, and his own eighth decade as a man, that system had been overturned forever and replaced by one that recognised the rights and freedoms of all peoples , regardless of the colour of their skin.
