Because she wasn't able to cope up with the mechanical teacher.
And she had to put her homeworks in a slot through punch code .
That made her hate school.And she didn't have friends nor classmates in her school i.e,her room.

Margie started to hate her school because it didn't have fun and enjoyment to her as she has expected. She was not doing well in her geography tests. She feels much disappointed when she comes to know that the Country Inspector put all his efforts in assembling the parts of the mechanical teacher.  Her imagination of the schools was that the schools were the place where children would meet and study together and help each other as well.
