I)Masulipatnam is presently located in Andhra Pradesh, a port city on eastern coast. The city was also called machillipatnam.
ii)This port is famous for its Kalamkari work which got its name from the Kalam- the pen like tool- used to draw design on the cloth.
iii)It was a special technique used in Kalamkari in which colour dye were used. The city was particularly famous for Chintzes and dying. Chintz became popular in Europe.
