Mr Keesing was annoyed with Anne because she was very talkative and she talked while he taught. Many a times he warned her not to talk but she never listened to him.
He punished her by assigning her with more homework, and told her to write an essay on 'A chatterbox' but this was of no use as she completed her essay giving important and agreeable points on why talking is necessary.
He then assigned her a second essay on the topic 'An incorrigible chatterbox', which, just like the previous one, failed to teach her a lesson as she wrote in it how her mother talked no less than herself and it was a hereditary trait.
After that too, Mr. Keesing didn't give up, he assigned her a third essay on the topic 'Quack Quack Quack said mistress chatterbox'. Anne was running out of ideas and so she asked her friend for help. Her friend helped her with it and they both came up with a creative story about a father swan who bit his baby ducklings to death because they talked too much. Mr. Keesing apparently got the message this time and thereafter, he didn't scold Anne for her talkative nature.
