Answer:
Explanation:
Mrs Pumphrey was the owner of a small dog Tricki in the story A Triumph of Surgery written by James Alfred Wight( pen name James Herriot), who was overfed and pampered by her. Since the dog was overfed and was not much into physical activities he started looking like a bloated sausage.
One day the dog started behaving abnormally. He stopped eating and even started refusing his favourite dishes. He soon started having bouts of vomiting and passed the entire day lying on a rug and panting. He even refused to go for walks.
She soon called the narrator , James Herriot who was a British veterinary surgeon (writer of this story) for help. The surgeon suggested her to hospitalised Tricki for a fortnight in order to keep him under strict observation. The lady almost fainted on hearing the suggestion as it was very tough for her to live a day without her dog.
Hope this help.
