through the partition of Bengal the British seeds of communalism in the Indian society. The Britishers encouraged Muslims to take part in the elections through separate electorates. the Muslims also thought that their identity shall be undermined if they joined the Congress. so, under the leadership of salimullah Khan of Dhaka and Prince Aga Khan formed the Muslim league in 1906.
