ngo dinh diem regime overthrowed the bao dai's regime in south vietnam. he built a repressive government . any one who opposed was called a communist and jailed ordinance 10 a french law was imposed. this law permitted christianity but outlawed buddhism . his dictatorial rule was opposed by nlf.
