The non-cooperation movement waswithdrawn because of the Chauri Chaura incident. Although he had stopped the national revolt single-handedly, on March 10, 1922, Gandhi was arrested. On March 18, 1922, he was imprisoned for six years for publishing seditious materials.

Non cooperation movement was withdrawn due to the following reasons..
1) Gandhiji felt that the movement was becoming violent at severe places..
2) He thought that the Indians were not prepared for such a mass movement..
3)The Non Cooperation Movement was launched without much preparation.
So it was withdrawn..!
