first It must have been clear, what parliamentary form of government really stands for because some people confuse that a country having a parliament, follows a parliamentary form of government, but it does not,

A parliamentary form of government means, The executive is backed by legislature(public representatives) of in simple terms we can say it is supported by public.

As we all know India was ruled by foreigners for a long time, so as we got independence our founding fathers did a deep analysis of different types of governments of the world and tried to shape India with a best form of government, and the answer was Parliamentary form of government, How? let’s discuss further.

To understand this we should have to analyse the main features of this type of government;

A constitutional ruler, the country should be ruled according the constitution, or we can say according to the public because the constitution is powered by the people of India.

No separation of powers, Legislature, executive and judiciary should exercise their functions in intimated manner.

Solution :-

India adopted the Parliamentary form of government because India has been familiar with its working during the British Colonial rule. The type of government that was functioning in India before independence was very much similar to the British model of government. The framers of Indian Constitution were very influenced by the British System. So, the members of the Constituent Assembly decided to adopt this form of government for the independent India. India is a country with diverse culture and followers of various religions. This situation could create conflicts among the different groups. So, for ensuring equal participation in the parliament, this form of government was selected. The framers of the Indian Constitution also had a thought in their mind that the British model of government is the best among all forms of government.

All-in-all, familiarity of the Indian polity with the working of the British system of government and representation of diverse interest groups led to the adoption of Parliamentary of government in India.
