PRI ( Institutional Revolutionary Party) is a political party in Mexico .Since its independence in 1930,Mexico holds election every 6 years. But until 2000, elections were won by PRI only.Opposition parties contested elections but never managed to win. The PRI was known to use many dirty tricks like
1) All those who were employed in government offices had to attend its party meetings.
2)Teachers of government schools used to force the parents to vote for PRI.
3)Media largely ignored the activities of opposition parties except to criticize them.
4)Sometimes the polling booths were shifted from one place to another in the last minute which made it difficult for people to cast their votes.
5)The PRI spent a large sum of money for its candidates.
