Reservations for scheduled castes and tribes was introduced to protect them from the hands of majority.Because a practise of discrimination and equality survived earlier times...

Racism was one of the most unsolved problems when our country got independence. For resolution of this conflict and to embrace minorities reservation introduced by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and then supported by majority of Constitutional Assembly.
