As you have asked this question,I am pretty sure that you know about the details of Simon Commission.Without beating about the bush, the reasons are—
1)It was an ‘all-white’ commission, that is to say,no representation of any Indian in the ‘Simon Seven’.Reasons being to avoid any ‘bias’ and ‘incompetency’.Naturally, protests started.
2)Secondly,at that time,Indians were all ‘charged-up’ and they wanted nothing less than complete freedom from the British yoke but Simon Comission again talked about ‘dominion-status’.So,ultimately,it was boycotted.Lala Lajpat Rai before succumbing to his injuries famously remarked, “The blows which fell on me today are the last nails driven into the coffin of British imperialism.”His death further infuriated the masses and demonstrations were held and Simon Commission was vehemently opposed.
