Because he betrayed by his senior officers such as Mir jafar
Answer:
The Battle of Plassey occured in 1757.
The Nawab of Bengal in 1757, Siraj-ud-Daulah refused to give concessions and privileges , disallowed to fortification and mint coins to the East India Company.
Afterwards, Siraj-ud-Daulah captured the English factory at Kassimbazar . He also said the Company to stop meddling and sending disrespectful messages to him. When he was moving towards Calcutta (Kolkata) to capture and destroy the English settlement, then Company official of Madras , Robert Clive responded in offensive. He sent his army to stop the forces of the Nawab.
Clive, cleverly managed to secure the support of Mir Jafar , one of the commanders of Siraj-ud-Daulah. Clive promised him to make him the Nawab of Bengal after crushing Siraj-ud-Daulah. Hence , the army led by Mir Jafar didn't take part in the battle . That maked Siraj-ud-Daulah weak. Hence, the traitory of Mir Jafar was the main cause of defeat of Siraj-ud-Daulah.
