On one side, they were about to be involved in World-War 2 and on their other side Netaji became a symbol of Indian youth that were ready to face all troubles in their fight for free India. The British needed Indian troops for the war and for that they had to stop Netaji from gaining more support of the masses. Initially they locked him up in jail but his health started deterioting .So, they got Netaji house-arrested .
