the population of France whoes from about 23 million in 1715 to 28 million in 1789 this lead to a rapid increase in the demand for food grains production of grains could not keep pace with your demands so the price of bread which was a staple diet of the majority Rose rapidly. most workers for employed as labours . in workshops whoes owner fix the wages. but the wages did not keep pace with the rise in price so the gap between the rich and poor widened. things became worse whenever drought or hail reduce the harvest. this led to a subsistence crisis in France ...
