The proposal for the non cooperation movement was brought in the Kolkata session of INC, September 1920 and it was ratified in the Nagpur session of INC, December 1920. And it was carried out in two phases, one involving the not using the foreign goods, boycott of British established institutions like schools etc. and the second one including spinning of cotton, abolition of liquor and practice of untouchability etc. But came to an end because of the Chauri-Chaura incident.
