The albatross was called as a christian soul because with the coming of the albatross, the winds started to blew and the icebergs started splitting. This gave the sailors a new hope and thus they welcomed him as the 'christian soul' by hailing him in the God's name.

Albatross was a Christian soul according to the board members.
According to them albatross was a messenger of god who had reached to help all of them. They thought that due to him they were of of the atmosphere of fog and mist.
