Bombay is described as the city of dreams because of the variety of jobs it provided in the past period, many people migrated to bombay in search of jobs for eg; people from the ratnagiri district came to work in the bombay textile industry.

Other than that, Bombay was also called as the "FILM CAPITAL OF INDIA", many people who had a dream to work in the films came to bombay.
