Corporal Trunbull was a rough and tough soldier and was a smart young art officer who could not 'be trifled with'. He never like if someone interrupt in between his lecture. the privates treated him as a hero for physical prowess.

Heya....
Corporal Trumbull was a man not to be trifled with. He had come from Dunkirk with all his arms accounted and corrected and he always carries a kitten in his pocket. He was so strong that one could hammer a nail into him without his noticing.
He never liked anyone interrupting him between his lectures. When Private Quelch tried to interrupt and embrace him in front of the whole class, he appointed him for the cookhouse duties perhaps in the hope of revenge. As he was the only man who show Private Quelch his right position and punished him, so he was the hero of all the soldiers.
