mahatma gandhi initiated it on 12 March,1930 and end on 6th April,1930.mahatma gandhi started the dandi March along with his 78 followers from sabarmati ashram to dandi(a village in Gujarat) he taste the sea water at dandi and make swadeshi salt and therefore,break the salt law.......

1)It is also known as saLt march, it was started beacause of increase in revenue by colonual govt.

2)It was started from Sabaratmati ashram to Dandi...This led to beginning of civil disobedience movement

3)It was initiated by Gandhi ji ,as the elven demands were not fullfilled.

4)In the beginning there was 78 volunteers in march , later joined thousands of thousands of people including diff. social groups...
