the war which began in 1914 and lasted for four years and three months was different in many ways than the previous wars . the war began in europe but it quickly spread to the countries in asia and africa . this was first war in history in which the developed countries used all their energies ,modern industries and resources of modern technology to spread large destruction and disrupt the international economy . it was first war not only between armies but also between peoples in the world. therefore, it is known as the first world war.
