They were actually, remember that revolution concerned only Paris. Creation of Assemblée ( end of the absolute monarchy ), prise de la Bastille, prise des Tuileries ( end of Constitutional monarchy ), and numerous coups ( most famous being the one of Napoleon ), all of these are purely Parisian events. The population had no other choice than to follow otherwise they received the visit of the “ colonnes républicaines “ sent by Paris.
