The frog was very evil, clever and sharp minded. He made the use of nightingale's voice to earn money out of it. He was very selfish and made the use of flattery to convince her to sing for him.

The frog puffed up with rage when he noticed that his income had started to decrease. The audiences who came to listen to Nightingale's song had to pay the frog some money. Since the nightingale failed to sing beautifully the audiences decreased and hence the income of the frog also decreased.
