Why was the Happy Prince weeping?

The Happy Prince was a prince when he was alive , in that kingdom where his statue was standing.

He was very happy when he was alive because his courtiers never let him to go outside and see the miser of the people of his kingdom.

He always used to look cheerful and gloomy when he was alive. That was why the people of his kingdom called him as Happy Prince.

But now his statue was now on the highest pedestal of the city , so he was able to see everyone in the Kingdom.

He was crying after seeing the sorrow and miser of the people of his kingdom.

He was crying after seeing the sorrow and miser of the people of his kingdom. He was not happy anymore.
