The lesson is considered to be the last lesson because of the order according to which German to be taught in the schools from the other day onwards  . The districts of France came under the rule of the Germans who made German the language of the districts. They even made it notify the people that French would not be taught in the schools, rather German should the language. In this way it became the last lesson taught bu M.hamel to the people of France.
