Little girl, Kezia was afraid of her father because:-

• Her father never played with her like Mr.Macdonald who used to play with his children.
• He never showed his love for her. And never spoke to her with affection.
• He always used to spot faults in her .
• Whenever she tried to talk with him, she start shuttering due to nervousness.
• Once, His father beat her because of his anger. The reason was Kezia's unknowingly deed. She tore his important papers for stuffing inside a pillow cushion for his birthday gift.
• From that day, She began to hate him more.

☃️ But actually his father was not cruel to her. He loved his daughter like other fathers do. But, He never showed his love due to workload and pressure. This is what, Kezia realized at the end of the chapter.
