The following are the reasons:-
1)Louis XIV called together for a meeting of Estates general to pass proposal for new taxes.

2)The members of the first and second estate sent 300 representatives each to the assembly while 600 representatives were already present.

3)But the members of the 3rd estate demanded that voting now be conducted by the assembly where each member had one vote.

4)As the king rejected the proposal,the members started protesting.
