When the constitution is written, The lower castes i.e. SC, ST and OBC are socially and economically backward. They are exploited by Upper castes. That's why the provision of reservation included in Indian Constitution.
Mainly SC and ST are the beneficiaries and somewhat OBC. In government exams, the passing marks of SC and ST are 30 to 40% only. and the passing marks of OBC is 75 to 79%. And the passing marks of general is 80%.
The Seats is also reserved in government jobs and exams. For General Caste 80% Seats are reserved. For OBC 10% seats are reserved. and left are for SC and ST.
