While the National assembly was busy in drafting the new constitution,the France was in state if alarm,they seethed with turmoil.

  • Due to severe winter,the Price of Bread rose high,the common people could not afford it.

  • The bakers and shopkeeper exploited the Situation. The hoarded the food grains. angered women standing in the queue for long hours stormed the shops.

  • On the other hand,the agitated crowd destroyed the Bastille.

  • The rumours spread that Lord of manors had hired the Band of brigades to destroy the ripe crops of Peasents.

  • Due to the fear,the Peasents attacked the chateaux. They looted the hoarded grains and burnt down the important Documents.

  • A large number of Nobles fled away from their homes,many of them migrated to neighbouring countries.
