It was launched because the British government passed the Rowlatt Act that gave the govt enormous power to suppress political policy. This act authorised the government to imprison and a person without trial and conviction .

Gandhiji is one of the most famous freedom fighters of our country.

His main agenda was to perform non-violent movements against the British government.

And among his non-violent movements,"Satyagraha" movements were very famous.

In the year of 1919,the British government passed the "Rowlatt Act",which excluded the jury members in the various judicial aspects.

In the protest of this act, Gandhiji started the "Rowlatt Satyagraha" in the same year.
