The Simon Commission officially called as Indian Statutory Commission was set up by the British government in November 1927. It was set up to suggest the constitutional reforms for British India and thus solve its constitutional problems.
It was wholeheartedly opposed by Indians as there was not a single Indian member in the Commission and more importantly the Indians now wanted complete Independence rather than constitutional reforms.
