The swallow was very moved by the Happy Prince's kindness and humanity. So it stayed with the Prince and did not fly away to Egypt.

EXPLANATION:

In the heart rendering story 'The Happy Prince ' by Oscar Wilde, a swallow had fallen behind of his friends who had flown away to Egypt. As it was preparing to fly away the statue of the Happy Prince urged it to stay.

The prince was a very generous, philanthropic and a compassionate person who always wanted to do good things to others even at the cost of his existence. This quality in him moved the swallow so much that it decided to stay back and help the prince with his missions by being his messenger.
