It was not applicable for all known elements but only to limited number of elements.

The system of classification of elements into triads was not found suitable because -

  • The identification of new elements made this model useless.
  • All the known elements could not be arranged as Triads.
  • It is not applicable to d and f-block elements.
  • The newly discovered elements did not fit into the Dobereiner's triad.
  • The law did not apply to the elements having low or high atomic mass.
