Hello Mate!

The war of 1857 is halied as first war of Independence because it was the first time ever where people of India were awakened for feedom and fought their first war against Britishers to give them right as same to given britishers.

This war was not able to compell britishers to run aways but gave a strong message that how much pain Indians can take over to get freedom.

Hope it helps☺!

Revolt of 1857 was known as the first war of independence because it was for the first time that our entire nation irrespective of the caste, creed, race, and religion had come together and staged an armed protest against the Britishers to gain independence from their colonial rule.
