Why was the weimer republic being held guilty for the mistakes made by germany in the first world war?

Because they were the ones that signed the treaty of Verssalies that the people of Germany dreaded as it would reduce their resources and w also ,other countries could take back the area that they conquered.The Weimar republic on the whole politically and financially was hey weak ,so people blamed them for not handling it better.
