WHY WAS THERE A NEED OF TAMARIND SEEDS IN WORLD WAR 2? I READ IT IN ABDUL KALAM'S CHAPTER.

During World War II, tamarind seeds were ground down and roasted to make tamarind kernel powder which was used as a sizing agent for textiles like jute and cotton.

It was also used as a major fuel for producer-gas (gasogen) units that powered Indian cars and trucks during World War II
