why was there huge popularity and support for for the non-coperation movement​

it was popular because it included that the officers working in British services,the children were withdrawn from the British schools.but unfortunatly,some people in chauri chauraha burner a British police station

killing 22 policeman.hence it was voilence,Gandhi ji called off this movement.
